about liesbeth allart
Currently based in London, Dutch oboist Liesbeth Allart was co-principal of Southbank Sinfonia 2009, and is a regular freelancer with various orchestras in the UK and in the Netherlands. She has appeared as a concerto soloist on both oboe and cor anglais in various European countries.
Liesbeth is a founder of the Dutch chamber group De Bezetting Speelt (DBS), of which she is the oboist and artistic co-director. DBS are steadily building a reputation and recently performed at the Opéra de la Bastille in Paris upon invitation.
Having recently ventured into baroque oboe territory as well as exploring 20th century repertoire with her oboe&percussion duo 2Twenty, Liesbeth's interest as a performer covers the entire range from early to contemporary music.
Liesbeth has a specialist interest in underexplored areas of music research, particularly relating to the late nineteenth and twentieth century.
